Life After High School

Life doesn’t stop after high school, but many families struggle in finding realistic and practical help to continue growth and development into adulthood. We develop collaborative life plans to give direction, guidance, and models to achieve individualized accomplishments and assist participants with community inclusion.

Welcome to the Applied Counseling and Consulting, LLC (ACCS) blog! We are excited to have our new webpage up and running, filled with information and resources for all of our visitors to encourage ongoing growth and development. Our focus on personal growth and development applies to our participants, our staff and our overall company. We hope that our new website and blog will help you to connect with resources that will support your journey and connect you to a community of individuals who are walking the same path.

For participants and their families, this journey can be complicated…with the end of services after high school, many families are left looking for how to continue growing and accessing the right supports along the way. ACCS is committed to high quality consumer services that are focused on the individual, not a standard program. We utilize evidence-based practices to help our participants learn new skills and develop their strengths and interests. We support the highest level of inclusion and work with our participants in their homes and local communities to ensure they can participate successfully in those situations. From washing dishes and cooking meals, to accessing transportation and spending a weekend at the shore, our staff support clients to pursue their dreams and develop functional skills in the process.

For current and future employees, ACCS strives to provide a fun and fair work environment, with an emphasis on professional development. The company provides collaboration and support for all team members in their respective roles. We encourage professionals to continue their own learning process by engaging in professional development course and work towards certification and licensure in a variety of fields. We currently have several individuals preparing for their certification exams to become Board Certified Behavior Analysts as well as a large group of employees studying for their Registered Behavior Technician credentials. In addition, we offer opportunities for paid training for on the job skills.

Finally, our organization continues to model growth and development as we work to expand the services we provide to participants and to our employees. Currently, we work with individuals who receive services through the Adult Autism Waiver of Pennsylvania and are working to expand those services to others through other avenues and for additional diagnoses. We welcome you to follow along through our website and blog or join us for our journey as a participant or employee!
